Tip of the week7 October 2024

User queries are key customization capabilities in SAP Business One and have gained significant adoption. Many organizations integrate them into routine workflows alongside standard reports. To enhance usability, SAP Business One allows incorporation of custom queries directly into the primary menu.

How to Add Queries to the Menu

Adding a user query to the main menu is a straightforward process using the Query Manager form. Follow these steps to make your frequently used queries easily accessible.

  • Access the Query Manager form and select your desired query
  • Click the 'Assign to Menu' button
  • In the Query Menu Registration window, enable the 'Menu Item' checkbox
  • Enter a descriptive name for the menu entry
  • Use the 'Parent Menu ID' field to browse and select the appropriate module location
  • Specify the position manually or select 'Place at Bottom'

Managing Menu Entries

Once added, the menu automatically refreshes to display your new query entry. To remove a query from the menu later, simply uncheck the 'Menu Item' option in the Query Menu Registration window. This flexibility allows you to keep your menu organized and relevant to your current workflows.
