SAP Business One tip
How Do You Ship? Set Shipping Type
Practical guidance for getting the most out of your SAP Business One system.
Different products have distinct shipping requirements. Some items need cold temperature control, others are valuable and demand secure transportation, and certain customers in remote locations may require specialized delivery services. These various considerations and constraints shape how businesses handle receiving and shipping goods.
Defining Shipping Types
SAP Business One addresses these diverse needs by allowing organizations to define shipping types and assign them to relevant business partners or items. When creating marketing documents, the shipping type designated for a business partner automatically appears in the Logistics tab.
- Define shipping types tailored to your business needs
- Assign shipping types to business partners or items
- Shipping types appear automatically in the Logistics tab
- Item-level shipping types display in document rows
Flexible Adjustments
When items are added to a document, their assigned shipping types display in the rows. If no shipping type was previously assigned, this is also indicated. Users have the flexibility to manually adjust the shipping type at both the line level and document level for specific transactions if needed, providing complete control over logistics management.
