Tip of the week1 January 2024

Running a paperless office does not eliminate document creation and processing. Effective business operations require establishing connections between relevant documents to maintain accuracy, transparency, and operational efficiency. SAP Business One version 9.2 and later allows users to reference other documents created within the system or external documents.

Expanded Document Support

Version 10.0 expanded the Referenced Documents capability to include additional document types, broadening the scope of records that can be linked together.

  • Inventory documents (goods issue and receipt, inventory transfer, inventory transfer request)
  • Purchase requests
  • Checks for payment
  • Recurring postings

Tracking Linked Documents

A numeric indicator displays beside the 'Referenced Document' button, showing how many documents are linked to a specific document. This feature enables businesses to maintain comprehensive document trails and strengthen the relationship between interconnected records, supporting better information management and operational visibility.
