Tip of the week1 January 2024

Locating specific functions in SAP Business One without memorizing menu paths is a common challenge. Whether navigating monthly reports, retrieving unfamiliar documents, or handling newly assigned tasks, users often struggle to find necessary functions quickly. Typical workarounds include attempting to recall vague menu paths, navigating through the Main Menu hoping for quick discovery, or keeping post-it notes with function locations.

Search Menus in SAP HANA

For users operating SAP Business One version for SAP HANA, the system provides a search box at the top of the Main Menu. Simply typing the desired entry displays relevant results with search values highlighted. Users of the SQL version, or those using SAP HANA without the Fiori Style Cockpit activated, can access a search box on the right side and select 'Search Menus.'

  • Type the desired function name in the search box
  • View relevant results with highlighted search values
  • Select from a list of matching menu entries

Eliminate Guesswork

This feature eliminates the need to memorize menu paths or maintain reference notes, streamlining access to both frequently and infrequently used functions alike. Instead of navigating through layers of menus, simply search for what you need and get there in seconds.
